Embeded GPS co-ordinates in photos

Imagine if you wanted to find your pictures from that ‘weekend in Rome’ you could simply fire up Google Maps/Earth and zoom into Rome Italy.

The good news is that the latest batch of mobile phones (like the Nokia 95) comes with a Camera and a GPS receiver in the one unit. Continued convergence of these technologies should mean that we will soon have latitude & longitude information embedded in the JPEG’s metadata. As a visual person this will greatly enhance my ability to manage and organsie my photo library.
